Anticipated term: August 2024 through mid-November 2024 Supervisor: Head of the Middle School Position Status: Full-time, Exempt, Temporary Qualifications - Must be able to speak, read, and write Chinese fluently
- Ability to conduct classes in the target language
- Proficiency with instructional technology
Duties & Responsibilities - Teach 4 sections of language classes in Chinese.
- Work directly with 13 other Middle School language teachers as part of a language PLC.
- Advise students as part of the Middle School Homeroom program.
- Contribute to the larger school community through supporting programs such as clubs that occur during the school day.
- Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; and engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may frequently walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud. TRAVEL Travel is primarily local during the regular business day. Overnight and out-of-area travel may also be required.
