We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Permanent Job Cost Estimator. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and who has a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing pricing, bids, and proposals, overseeing and contacting vendors and subcontractors, and supplying cost estimates of changes during construction. Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Job Cost Estimator, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Prepare and present detailed, accurate pricing, bids, and proposals to the management team.
- Oversee and maintain contact with vendors and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide cost estimates of changes during the construction process to assist in budgeting and financial planning.
- Develop accurate, detailed construction cost estimates at progressive design stages.
- Develop associated scope of work clarifications to ensure all team members are on the same page.
- Contribute to cost-saving exercises to help the company maintain financial health.
- Assist with the development of bid packages to secure new business opportunities.
- Assist with project procurement and buyout to ensure the company has the necessary resources for project completion.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Job Cost Estimator role will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in preparing pricing, bids, and proposals.
- Previous experience overseeing and contacting vendors and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated ability to supply cost estimates of changes during construction.
- Strong skills in developing accurate, detailed construction cost estimates at progressive design stages.
- Experience in developing associated scope of work clarifications.
- A track record of contributing to cost-saving exercises.
- Experience assisting with the development of bid packages.
- Proven ability to assist with project procurement and buyout.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related software.
